HISTORY

Founded by Antonio and Asta Meschino, “Uzupio pizzeria” opened doors in 2003, following the steps of Antonio’s parents, who founded the first Italian restaurant in Newcastle, Australia, in the 1960s (La Concordia).

 

ABOUT US

We are proud to bake a real Neapolitan pizza, which is declared a Unesco culinary heritage. The authenticity of our pizzas is confirmed by the certificate No. 720 of the Naples Pizza Association (L’Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, AVPN) issued for “Uzupio pizzeria” in 2018.

Our Executive chef Pizzaiolo Federico Meschino joined the team in 2014. Later his brothers, the pizza baker Edoardo and the chef Marius also started making sure that the dining in “Uzupio pizzeria” would be a memorable experience.

 

All ingredients are imported directly from Italy and the pizza dough is matured for at least 24 hours at a controlled temperature to obtain a soft, tender and soluble pizza. That is why every pizza is made with great love and dedication to food culture.

We are pleased that several culinary experts from different countries rated the gastronomic experience of tasting the pizza baked in "Uzupis Pizzeria" the same as eating pizza in Naples.
